This vegan, cruelty-free product contains the following acidic active ingredients to safely reduce alkalinity in the hair:

• Citric acid
• Phosphoric acid
• Alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) complex derived from Italian fruits.

This formula is free from sulphates, ammonia, MEA, DEA, PPD and PDT.

This product is part of the P.O.D system, which utilises water by softening it and making it more functional for different hair types. This system includes the following steps:

1. Chelating the hair with The Mineral Cleansing Spray.
2. Cleansing the hair with a shampoo of your choice.
3. Balancing the hair's pH levels with The Shield.
4. Preparing the hair with an ECOHEADS P.O.D Prep of your choice.
5. Performing the service on the hair, whether it be colour, toning or a conditioning treatment.
6. Finishing the service with The Sealer.

The Shield is to be used in step 3 of the P.O.D system.

Before using The Shield, cleanse the hair with shampoo to remove any lightener residue or product and oils if the hair is dirty. Then squeeze out any excess water from the hair and apply this product.
